WOW! I guess I could end my post right there because it’s pretty hard to describe just how incredible Alaska is. We had an absolutely wonderful time. We saw so many things! I’ve just now uploaded my pictures and started working on a few, but there are so many that I will be busy for a few weeks I think, ha!
We had incredible weather and everywhere we went, it seemed we were blessed with experiences that had been scarce in the last couple months for other visitors. First, the weather. It was perfect! We had one day it rained during the day for about 5 minutes but that was it. We landed on glaciers that the pilot hadn’t landed on ever and we saw bears that hadn’t been seen in the last several weeks.
The first excursion we had was a helicopter ride, with a two-location landing. OMG! This was nothing less than incredible! Definitely worth doing to see the incredible splendor of Alaska. Dave and I even drank water from the Glacier. A friend of mine suggested that we might’ve even drank the DNA of a Wooly Mammoth, LOL! Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what we saw that day.
The colorful picture was a view of Mendenhall Glacier in the center above the tree line. Our shuttle driver was nice enough to suggest this view on our way back from the helicopter ride.
I can’t let this post end without mentioning two wonderful people we met, Mindy & Mike from Florida. You made our trip even more special and I’m so glad we’ve become friends!
