Rest in Peace My Furry Friend :(

Only a few short days after Hobbes’ 18th birthday, Hobbes has passed away peacefully.  😦    I’m reposting the pictures here to honor him and to let everyone know how much I loved him.  He gave me such comfort and love, and believe he had a really good life.   He will always be remembered.  Now off for a good cry!  :((((

  7. Much sadness in the loss of a pet and friend. It is clear to me that you will think of him fondly. Try to smile, you had 18 years to share together.

  8. So sorry you have lost your friend. His spirit will still be with you.

  9. I know very well how deep a cavern they leave behind when they pass on, having lost two of our remaining three within the past half-year. When they are no longer with us, the time together seems like it was so short, and a part of us stays with them, but a part of them stays with us as well. Your 18th birthday tribute to Hobbes was beautiful, as is this revisit and, I’m sure, as are your memories–hold him there. And a good cry is the right thing.

  10. I too am sorry you lost your friend. Be well my dear friend.

  11. January has been an awful month for our furry friends. I now know of 2 dogs, your Hobbes, and two baby chickens who were killed by a raccoon. I will be glad when January is over! My sympathy for your loss.

  20. Beautiful cat. You can see he was very happy. He lived a long happy life because of you. My cat went missing in October, and I have not been able to find her. It broke my heart too. I know how you feel. They are like our children. God bless you.

    • Oh no 😦 I’m so sorry to hear your companion went missing. That is so sad! I know how you feel though about losing a kitty. It’s very hard and they are like our children. I miss him terribly. God Bless you too! *hugs*

  21. So sorry. Hope your cry helped. We choose furry friends to be part of our lives and it’s so sad when they go, but like people, those who touch our hearts stay in them forever.

    • Thank you so much. 🙂 I spent several days crying but am better now. I still miss him terribly. He was the light of my life, but I know he’s my little angel. Thank you again.

  22. A wonderful tribute in photos.

  23. I’ve had cats all my life (except during the times I spent overseas). My favorite was a little black female named Lucia. She was a real bitch with a body that reminded me of Mary Lou Retton, kind of stocky. I loved her. Out of the five cats my wife and I had at the time, she was the youngest. When she died I kinda lost it at work (I had taken her to the vet and received the call while at work). My by then ex-wife bought her a little tombstone and sent it to me. I had her funeral, burying her in the backyard with some laminated photos of her acting badly, some catnip, and some cans of gourmet cat food. Still miss that damn cat.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts.

    • Awwwwweee…thank you so much for sharing your story about Lucia. I still have Hobbes’ bed and blanket. I can’t quite bring myself to toss them out. I’ve had animals all my life but never have I had one like him. I did crack a smile when you said your cat had a body that reminded you of Mary Lou Retton. Too funny. Thank you for sharing this!

  24. thank you for the link.
    what a beautiful cat.
    Gavin.
