I couldn’t resist the different wording with the word “deck” in it. Usually it’s “View from our Deck” or something or other from our deck. This time I had to go below our deck for this shot. I found this flower leaning against a flax in the late evening sun.
You are amazing Laura. It just goes to show that you don’t even need to leave your own yard (or deck) to find wonderful images to shoot. Excellent composition and lighting. Bravo!
I like the composition of this image. The upside down “V” with the subtle colors are nice. A new icon or avatar, I’m not sure what it is called. I’ll have to get used to the new one.
The flowers look like our phlox, but I haven’t seen them produce stems as long as the ones here seem to have. Whatever they are, they are a treat to behold through your eyes!
Thank you 🙂 We are on the side of a hill, so our deck is two stories above the bottom part of the hill. This plant was technically not right “under” our deck, just “below” it…lol.
this is beautiful Laura! It has a Japanese feel to it so delicate and the placement of the flower with the spaces of light and shadow. The flax looks like fabric.

That’s so pretty. That’s an ‘inspirational quote’ shot. (i.e. room to include a quote on the picture). 🙂

Funny, I was thinking it a deeper photo that most of mine and all I could come up with was Below our Deck. How lame is that!? 😉

Thanks! As for the gravatar, that’s my LM logo for Laura Macky. It’s everywhere else except wordpress, so I thought I should continue the tradition. 🙂

I know so little about flowers and such so thank you for the names. And for your very kind comments. I truly appreciate them!

Such beautiful colours. Is it a large space under the deck?
