We went to The City yesterday to enjoy a one-man play called ‘The Scion’ by Brian Copeland at The Marsh theater in the Mission District. If you’re in the area, I highly suggest this play and I think it runs for another couple weeks. It was incredibly good! Prior to the play we ate at a really great Mexican restaurant…umm yes, one of probably hundreds in the neighborhood, lol, and then walked around a bit.
We found an area called Balmy Alley where there were lots of murals on the walls and we noticed that there were tour guides explaining the murals to visitors. I decided to put a gallery together containing some of the murals just because they are so vibrant and fun!

I live near Toronto where I feel there is some of the best street art. I cannot wait to get rid of the snow and head out to do looking around to see what’s changed! Thanks for sharing and inspiring me!
March 23, 2014 at 12:48 pm
I’ll bet! I can’t imagine living in snow honestly. I hope it clears for you soon. It’d be fun to see some of the street art.
March 23, 2014 at 12:54 pm
Well, this would be the year to NOT try to live in snow – it’s been a very intense winter. I love the weather in California and probably could get used to it.
March 23, 2014 at 12:55 pm
Yeah, I think I’ll pass. 😛
March 23, 2014 at 12:24 pm
Very colorful – Do these change and were the artists allowed to put them up? – looks like they would have taken some time to do.
March 23, 2014 at 12:50 pm
They do change and started in the mid-80’s. You can read about them here: http://www.balmyalley.com/Welcome.html

I love street art that consists of more than just ‘tags’. Very nice collection there.
March 23, 2014 at 1:24 pm
Thank you Sue. Me too. The funny thing is that as much as I know SF, I didn’t even know this was there! How nuts is that? lol
March 23, 2014 at 1:25 pm
That happens I think lol

Places like this are so good, and it is great to have places where street artists can do “their” thing.
March 23, 2014 at 2:15 pm
I never even knew we had this here. I guess the tourists knew more than I did but I’m glad I found it. It was totally happenstance. We were just walking around and turned a corner.
March 23, 2014 at 2:19 pm
I find tourists often know heaps more than me, we need to try being tourists in our own towns. Do you know if it changes over time.
March 23, 2014 at 2:34 pm
Yes, it does change from time to time. And I totally agree. I never go to the tourist places but I definitely need to start googling!

March 24, 2014 at 8:36 am
No, I just thought it was funny and I have a weird sense of humor and inserted it at the end lol.

Don’t you just love street art?!!! There’s so much personality here. I’m so glad you shared this with us.
March 27, 2014 at 10:46 am
I really do love it. I just wish I could go into the downtown areas where the graffiti is more random but I’d probably get shot, lol. Needless to say I was happy when I found this street and I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

Beautiful photos! By the way I really like the name of your blog. Life is, after all, the journey of a body on the earth. And who knows what that body will get up to. The cover photo with the inside of the balloon is meaningful as well. Like the feather in Forrest Gump, sometimes we are just floating, never sure where we will end up.

Wow thank you so much! I appreciate that very much 🙂
