  1. Wow! It’s almost as if I can smell it from here. Beautiful!

  2. Personally, I ALWAYS stop.

  3. What a beautiful yellow rose!

  4. I was just saying that to someone lol, you gotta slow down and smell the roses . Beautiful photo ma’am love the yellow and the softness to it

  5. Reblogged this on william patrick photo and commented:
    Beautiful!

  6. What a pure yellow!

  7. Pity a photo cannot transmit an aroma as well… this rose looks as though it would have a very pleasant smell

  8. Gorgeous Rose and gorgeous composition. I love the way you framed this, Laura. And this Rose is so detailed I can almost smell Her. Thank you! Love, Amy

  9. Your use of light and dark reminded me so much of a Vermeer painting. His subjects were mostly people, but you see that same reach off the page/canvas contrast in your flower. Beautiful!

  10. Delicate, sensual beauty

  11. I like the yellow captured in this one – not too bright but good and rich. Your garden? We have white iris blooming currently.

  12. That is so beautiful, bright and full of good energy. Reminds me of the warmth of the summer sunshine.

  13. Forgive me for thinking this way, but if this were a picture in a baby book with “scratch and sniff” properties, it would be a fabulous learning tool. The yellow is pure and clean–a color some child (or adult) would never forget.

  14. What a beautiful image Laura! Makes me want to go up the street to the neighborhood garden. Bravo πŸ™‚

  15. It looks so delicate – very pretty.

  16. Brilliant! Laura.

    “There’s a yellow rose in Texas….”
    Sorry; couldn’t resist.

    πŸ™‚

  17. A great capture of the delicacy of the petals, and, of course, the beautiful yellow!

  18. Indeed it is Laura πŸ™‚ Lovely rose! Ours are just coming into season now. There’s a yellow rose in our communal gardens that has the most heavenly scent! I can’t pass it by without stopping and sticking my face into one of the blooms and drinking in its perfume πŸ™‚

  19. Ah the scent of a rose can send me right way back when πŸ˜‰
Lovely Laura . On the brink …

  20. Nice….are you using a macro lens? If so, what are you using. I have just been doing some research on macro lens and want to learn more.

  21. This is an interestingly shaped rose, more angular than I am used to seeing. I love the diamond shape centered, it flows well with the leaf points. Beautiful color too πŸ™‚ Always a great reminder to S.L.O.W. down. Thank you.

    • the shape and the leaves, yes, that’s what caught my attention too. In always moving a mile a minute in my head and have got to force myself to slooowwwww dowwnnnnnnn. πŸ™‚

  22. What a lovely yellow……it’s sort of soft and vibrant all at the same time

  23. It is Laura, getting a start on the macro idea?? Beautiful.

  24. Hey Laura … that looks so delicate. I bet the perfume is heavenly.

  25. and an absolutely gorgeous one you picked to smell!!

  26. Nice shot! Makes me want to shoot some of the flowers my wife has around the house and yard as she is planting them.

    • Thank you so much! And hmm…I just noticed it says I’m not following you! Word Press does this sometimes, I kid you not. It unfollows people at random! I’m following you back. Sorry about that!

      • That’s ok. I’m following so many people right now that I actually have your page and a few others bookmarked so I don’t forget to look at them. There’s just so many people out there’s not enough time to keep up so I have to be selective. I’ve actually been too busy lately that I haven’t even posted any new photos myself since Sunday as I’ve been working more hours. I wish I had more time to be able to write about the photos I type but I don’t think that’ll happen anytime soon. I also wish I could invest more time in photography but between work and family I’m lucky to get out and shoot once a month. I should be posting again this weekend though! Look forward to future posts from you. πŸ™‚

  27. I just stopped to smell the Peonies about ready to bloom…love that quote. Pretty yellow rose!!

  28. That’s really lovely Laura. Beautiful.

  29. Someone once told me that you can eat the petals from most flowers. This one looks good enough to eat. Nice shot.

    • You can? I think I’ll pass on it although I’ve seen them on my plate in some restaurants, lol. Thank you for the compliment on how it looks though! πŸ™‚

  30. stunning Laura, the light color, texture, just outstanding!

  31. Beautiful and I agree you just have to stop sometimes and smell the flowers.

  32. Yellow, my absolute favorite flower color πŸ™‚ Just gorgeous!

  33. So soft looking and such lovely color!
