Birthday Boy in B&W – Monochrome Madness

Ta da…….It’s MMC Week 21!

For this week I’ve chosen to display my husband in all his glory.  It was his birthday last week and I snapped a photo which I thought looked pretty good in B&W.  I hardly ever take people photos as you know, but I thought I’d try something different this time.

Check out the gallery at Leanne Cole’s Blog later today.  I always look forward to seeing what everyone does. 🙂

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!

  2. What a fabulous photo !!!!!!
    Happy birthday.
You are so lucky to have so much love in your life.
    Gavin.

  3. Good capture Laura. 🙂

  4. Does your husband mind having his picture taken? My wife usually pitches a small fit at first, but then knows that I won’t put a bad phot of her out in the world. Nice shot – we don’t see too many portraits in the MMC.

    • He doesn’t mind but if he’s smiling for a photo it’s not the best lol. I like this one because he’s unaware of the camera. I like most people photos when they are unaware the camera is there. Thanks for the props on the shot. I’m really not a portrait photographer but once in awhile I like to try. 🙂

  5. Wonderfully done Laura! This reminds me of a book cover or movie poster. He’s a good lookin dude…. love the framing.

  6. Yes, well done! I have to do dome convincing to get a shot of my husband too but he’s getting better knowing there will always be a camera around. ❤

  7. That’s a great photo!

  8. Nicely done. Happy birthday to your hubby!

  9. Aw…there’s a nice birthday present; a beautiful monochrome from you, and a great picture of him….best birthday wishes!! 🙂 ~ Dave

  20. What a lovely capture Laura! Love the closeness of it. Works very well in monochrome! 😊

  21. I love people photos. This is terrific dear. Now about that knee/leg comment you left on Mick’s blog….

    • Thank you 🙂 Oh THAT. Yeah, I’ll be making an “announcement” just before I leave. I don’t mind telling people here and there right now. I’ll be gone for awhile as far as posting pics. Hope I will still be following blogs here but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to start doing that. I’m getting a bit tired of surgeries. But it has to be done. Thanks for asking. 🙂

  22. I’ve been seeing exceptionally nice portraits today. There must be a theme of some sort. 🙂

  23. Happy Birthday to your husband! Nice shot. 🙂

  24. just a hint of the beginnings of a smile … lovely shot Laura !

  26. You are a much better portraitist than you give yourself credit for being, Laura! But it does help to be in love with your subject—it shows! Splendid shot. Good looking guy. Lucky both of you! 😉
Xoxo to you and Happy Birthday to your spouse!
    Kathryn

  27. It is a great capture, I believe best portraits are those that are spontaneous.

    • Thank you. I don’t know much about portrait photography, but I’ve always liked them best when they are spontaneous. Is that a category of portrait photography? I don’t even know! lol

  28. Fabulous portrait and great toning.
