Getting Well

Recently I received a beautiful “Get Well” flower arrangement from a friend of mine.  It really perked me up the day it was delivered and it continues to provide happy color on our living room table.   After a nudge from Leanne, I thought I should try and take a picture of it or part of it anyway, so I got my camera out, blew off the dust and took a few pics.  I will say that I’m still a bit loopy from these meds so not only is it difficult to sit at the computer for any length of time physically, it’s hard for me to concentrate!  Sheesh!

Anyway, I wanted you all to know how much I appreciated your support.  I’m moving along….slowly but surely.  I’m actually right on track so I’m happy and grateful.  I apologize for not following everyone’s blogs regularly but hopefully I’ll get back to a regular routine soon.

  1. Glad to hear you are on track. Just keep it on!

  2. And you do spectacularly, meds and all!!! Beautiful photo! So glad to hear of your progress. Keep up the good work!

  3. Glad to hear you are doing well. Don’t back off the meds too soon you you want to keep progressing forward! 😄 hope you didn’t shake too much today!

    • Hi Cathy! yeah I tried that…not a good idea. It hasn’t even been two weeks. I AM doing so much better than the last time! So this morning I got an email from someone that asked if I was okay after the earthquake. Earthquake?? What earthquake? So I asked Dave if he felt the earthquake. He looked at me wide-eyed and said that I woke up screaming about the earthquake, but I don’t even remember! I guess those meds I’m taking for pain for my knee replacement are working. LOL!

  4. Gentle steps…
nice Picture, nice control of light.

  5. Hi Cathy, good to see you are taking up the camera again, if only on a limited basis. Progress on schedule sounds great. It also sounds as if you are having the confidence and experience with the knee operation to be able to judge your progress. Yah!
Very nice image of the flower. I too like the colors.

    • Cathy?? You mean Laura right? 😛 I am doing well this time. What a different experience! Thanks Tim. 🙂

      • Sorry on the name. You could think I was the one on numbing substances.
“Different experience!” I hope in a positive way.
You’re welcome. I look forward to seeing more images as you progress to full health.

        • Yes definitely better. Last knee was just horrible. This one seems so much easier. No worries about the name…lol…it made me laugh. 😀 Thank you so much for your support. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get back to looking at everyone’s blogs.

  6. It’s lovely Leanne! Like my blog says, just take it one day at a time 🙂

  7. Nice to see you! Glad to hear that you are healing and moving forward. One day at a time. Hugs! Jamie

  10. Wishing you the best for a steady and rapid recovery. Great photo. I don’t think you’ve lost your touch 🙂

    • Thanks Dan! I felt sort of lost for a few minutes in Lightroom since I literally just learned it before I had the surgery..it’s definitely something one has to keep doing all the time. I appreciate your support.!

  11. It is great to hear from you, Laura. I’m glad you are on track. Be cheerful and remember that you have many rooting for you. Your photo is lovely :-).

    • Thank you! I’ve been pretty cheerful I think this time. I feel infinitely better than the last time so there’s lots to be cheery about. I’m just sorta discombobulated with the meds lol. Loopy Laura. 😛

  16. Did you jump out of bed this morning? Get back to jumping soon..

  17. Great to hear that you’re on the mend. I couldn’t see any “loopy” in that picture. Very nice. Hang in there and you’ll be back to normal before you know it.

  18. Get well, Laura. We miss you. Love the photo!

  19. Laura, darling, I just heard about the quake! Hoping and praying you weren’t hard hit (or going to be by any aftershocks)!!!! You’re in my heart for healing *anyway*—stay safe!!!
    xoxoxo,
    Kathryn

  20. Beautiful photo of your flower arrangement. Glad to hear you’re on the mend. Hope you will soon be over the worst of the recuperation and back to normal.
I’ve pretty much abandoned my blog since my husband had a knee replacement this past February. He’s still not quite 100%, but he’s doing okay. However, I think I spoiled him in the beginning and now he’s milking it for all it’s worth. 🙂
Looking forward to seeing more gorgeous photos from you once you’re all healed up.
    Kathy

    • LOL Kathy…about your hubby milking it hahahaha. I’m cracking up but I’m so sorry to hear he’s not 100%. It took me a year and I still wasn’t and am not 100% regarding the first knee I had done although it’s better than what it was. I hope he feels better. Sometimes it takes 1-1/2 to 2 years to feel normal, at least that’s what I hear.

      • Glad I could make you laugh! lol And thanks, I hope my hubby feels better soon too. Sure glad your first knee is better than what it was. That 1 1/2 to 2 years sounds like an eternity! It’s only been 6 months for him. Not sure he’ll ever feel normal again, but I guess we’ll find out as time drags slowly onward. Sure hope your recovery is going faster than his.

        • Yeah I sure wish my right knee were better than what it is but at least it’s better than what it was. Keep telling myself that anyway lol. Problem was in waited way too long on that one. The one recovering from wasn’t delayed so I hope ill fatal great after this one to make up for the first one. And yes, thanks for the laugh…always welcomed. 😀

  21. Gorgeous Laura. I think you did a great job. I hope it felt good to be snapping again.

  22. getting back in the saddle I see….wonderful, I hope you are feeling as great as that photo. 🙂 all the best Laura. ~ Dave

  26. Great shot even if you are in an altered state 🙂 Glad you are getting better and on track for a recovery. All your friends know where you are, so don’t worry about the blogging – take care of yourself and follow the house doctor’s orders.

  35. Glad to hear your on the mend and from experience I know how hard recovery can be esp with strong meds. Your shot is beautiful I particularly like the lighting,it brings real drama to the scene.

    • Thank you so much Ben. And unfortunately you know about strong meds it seems. Most of the day I’m a bit loopy, lol. And yes more than usual! LOL. Thank you for your comment on the lighting. It’s what I liked best about it too.

  36. I guess you can tell from the number of responses that everyone following your blog is anxious for you to get well quickly! We are not pushing you, but we surely do miss you and your camera.

    • Thank you Beth 🙂 I’m hoping to do a couple shots a week while I’m recovering. That’s my goal anyway. I’m so glad you missed me! I miss being here SO much.

  43. I have not found what happened to you yet…but I will! I pray for your wellness! ❤

  44. Apologies for being away and not wishing you well in your recovery sooner…been dealing with my hand/arm issues flaring up. Just wanted to pop in and say “hi” and so glad you’re recovering well! We still need to set up a skype chat too! 🙂

    • Ut oh….Thank you for letting me know and I know only too well how those things are. Best to rest! I’m not myself either right now so I’m not checking others’ blogs like I normally would. I’m barely keeping up here on my own. We are a mess! Soon to be healed though…….sometime! lol
