Normally I don’t post two images in one day; however, I couldn’t resist posting because I FINALLY got out of the house for a brief time today for a ride! I already knew of this pickup truck and its location having seen it before, so I knew where I wanted to go before we left the house. Upon arrival I looked at my subject matter eagerly as I slowly got out of the car, hobbled over with my tripod and photographed it, lol. Thank you to my handsome assistant for carrying my gear that long 10′ walk from the car. 🙂
For those of you who wondered what I did: I shot it with my 10-24mm lens by taking 3 bracketed photos @ f/8 (1/125, 1/250, 1/500s). I merged them into Photomatix Pro and after I decided on some settings I brought it into PSCC where I created a low key image and masked it over the original and used varying brush opacities to expose what I wanted. After that, I added some light here and there and a light leak.
Man that was fun. I sure miss taking photos!

Thank you! Isn’t it though? It has a splash of femininity with the flowers. And if you look closely on the back left tire, there is a lizard on it LOL.

I’m so glad you do! I revised it a bit on my photography website. I should replace the image here. If you want to see the new one you can at http://www.lauramacky.com under gallery “Things That Move”

October 3, 2014 at 3:38 pm
Wow. Great subject but you lost me on the processing. I don’t understand bracketing (or how to do it) and I don’t know how to stack images etc. But I do like your end result. 🙂
October 3, 2014 at 5:47 pm
Thank you Sue. Glad you like the result!
