This is the last in the series from the Hayward Japanese Tea Garden. I really milked this outing for all it’s worth lol.
This image I created to be a more graphical representation of a tree in the garden. Originally the thought was to make it more like Japanese brush strokes but I’m not well enough to focus on doing anything too new, so I went with what I know already. Looking forward to getting out soon!

March 5, 2015 at 2:59 am
Outings like this are the best. Another great image.
March 5, 2015 at 7:17 am
It really was kind of amazing. I’ve never gotten so many pictures from one place. Thank you!
March 5, 2015 at 3:10 am
This is a brilliant image, and love what you did to it to make the leafy orange tree stand out amongst all the others leaves. It could have so easily drowned in all the greenery π It’s probably just me, but this photo looks like it borders on being a watercolour painting and a photograph. Very nicely done.
Milked the outing for all it’s worth? Glad you found inspiration on your outing. That almost never happens to me when I am taking photos outdoors most of the time π
March 5, 2015 at 7:18 am
Thank you Mabel. It is sort of watercolor-ish isn’t it. I thought it had a sketch-like quality to it as well. Kind of an in betweener. I’m thinking my new camera is helping me get better images. I really love it. Thank you Mabel. π
March 6, 2015 at 2:08 am
Definitely a sketch quality to it, especially with the very rounded edges of the tree. New camera is always exciting. So many new possibilities with a new toy. And I think you and your camera are a great match π
March 6, 2015 at 7:58 am
Thank you Mabel! π

I do a LOT of online chatting like that so I freely use those symbols. i should be more careful with them.
March 5, 2015 at 3:57 am
I have enjoyed being with you hereβ¦so don’t worry about “milking” the location – but that’s coming from a guy who could often open a dairy with all the shots he shows from one location π
March 5, 2015 at 7:20 am
I’m glad you were along for the journey Robert! And yes, while others would not udder a word about it, we would have a cow not to! omg…I really need a life! lol
March 5, 2015 at 7:59 am
At the risk of sounding Bossy, you’d best get out of the house…

March 5, 2015 at 5:08 am
intriguing – quite like a fairy tale
March 5, 2015 at 7:21 am
Yes! Thank you for seeing that Diana. It’s exactly what I was thinking!!!
March 9, 2015 at 5:47 pm
Yes indeed. It has the quality of a coloured block print that you would find in an illustrated book of fairy tales.
I make a lot of use of the free plug-in from Redfield to create a line layer when producing a painterly or pencil effect. provides quite a bit of control & modification, especially when combined with other effects. π
March 9, 2015 at 7:24 pm
I haven’t heard of that one. I’ll check it out. Thanks for letting me know. π
March 5, 2015 at 5:38 am
Superb piece! π
We hope you will be feeling better! My wife and I are all too familiar with physical problems… especially my wife. She has Wilson’s Disease, dystonia, and mostly eats via a gastrostomy tube.
March 5, 2015 at 7:22 am
Oh dear Thomas. π¦ I’m so sorry to hear of your wife’s physical challenges. All of us have some challenges and some are more apparent than others. Bless you and your wife.
