I thought today I’d share with you some of my Instagram photos. When I’m out and about not with my camera, I most always have my iPhone with me. And when I’m waiting for a doctor’s appointment or at the carwash or just sitting on the back deck, I’ll edit the photos in one of my many IOS apps.
I find that not one app alone doesn’t usually do it for me. Sometimes it works but usually I use multiple apps to get the job done. My recent favorites are Leonardo and TangledFX. I’ve included some photos here in a gallery here. You can find more Instagram photos by clicking here or on the link in the sidebar.

I should probably utilize my iphone and experiment with some apps. Your photos are really gorgeous!
March 14, 2015 at 8:32 am
It really is a fun thing to do! Sometimes I like doing it more than the regular photos! What’s nice is that once you buy an app for the iPhone, you can download it for the iPad too. Makes editing easier sometimes on the iPad. 🙂

so beautiful!
reminds me of looking

of my youth 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 8:44 am
I love that. Thank you!
March 14, 2015 at 8:40 am
Love what you’ve done with the red-orange rose! I tried to find both Leonardo and TangledFX on the Amazon App store and had no luck. Suggestions?
March 14, 2015 at 8:44 am
Thank you! Oh they are iPhone apps. I got them through iTunes via my iPhone. I don’t know any other apps other than the ones via iTunes. 😦
March 14, 2015 at 8:44 am
I like what you have done in each of these photos Laura. I recently started an Instagram, but I will admit that I haven’t used it much. I do however have an iPad that I use Lightroom mobil on. I will have to look into some of the other photo editors.
March 14, 2015 at 8:45 am
Thanks James. I have LR mobile although I don’t use it much. I really enjoy the apps though. They provide a lot more artistic possibilities IMHO. What is your link? I’ll follow you.

March 14, 2015 at 9:49 am
No wonder you’re killer diller with a DSLR! 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 9:52 am
Aw thank you!!
March 14, 2015 at 9:59 am

It doesn’t take me too long to do these. The barn took the longest because I replaced the sky. And yes! Leonardo provides masking options. Amazing. I’ll look forward to seeing what you get. I have an iPhone 5 and it’s pretty good but I”m sure the new iPhone is even better.
March 14, 2015 at 10:18 am
exquisite!
March 14, 2015 at 10:19 am

March 14, 2015 at 11:15 am
Oh Mitch…Thank you so much. I posted them for the same reason. It’s why I love color so much. It picks up the mood!
March 14, 2015 at 10:34 am
Wonderful Instagrams, just to adore and stay with. I have not tried out Leonardo or TangledFX. May have to check them out. 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 11:16 am
Thank you Otto! Leonardo is really great because you can mask. I replaced the sky in the barn picture. Amazing what you can do on an app these days.
March 14, 2015 at 11:01 am
Ooh, I love that red rose!
March 14, 2015 at 11:17 am
Thank you Sarah! There are different versions on the instagram feed of that rose photo.
March 14, 2015 at 11:19 am

March 14, 2015 at 11:52 am

Wow Laura .. I have to give these apps a go! Great photos 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 11:54 am

March 14, 2015 at 12:35 pm
Thank you!
March 14, 2015 at 12:41 pm
I’m using my camera and my iPhone more often. Most of the time I don’t even download the photos in the computer.
March 14, 2015 at 1:02 pm
I would like to use your last photo as the basis of a new painting I do for a charity called New Dawn Project. Would you be ok with that? I will give you credit for the original photo in my artist notes.
March 14, 2015 at 1:30 pm
Hi Dave….why certainly. I’d be honored! I would love it see it when you’re finished, just to see what I inspired. That’s exciting, thank you so much! 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 1:06 pm

March 15, 2015 at 6:03 pm

Thought so! 🙂
March 15, 2015 at 6:12 pm
did you get the gift i sent you on Instagram?
March 15, 2015 at 7:14 pm
No! How do I receive it. I’m a bit dense when it comes to Instagram. How exciting! I’m going to go back in right now to see what I missed. 🙂
March 15, 2015 at 7:16 pm
I just figured it out. I left you a message. 🙂
March 14, 2015 at 8:41 pm
I do use my DSLR photos occasionally.
March 14, 2015 at 9:37 pm
Most do. It’s just easier for me to keep it iphone or iPad only. So many sites to update!
March 14, 2015 at 10:18 pm
Amazing photos you got there just by using your phone. You’re more tech savvy than me. When I’m out, I tend to take photos on my point-and-shoot (mainly because I paid quite a bit for it and want to get the most out of it 😦 ) But I’ve played around with a few apps and how I wish every single effect can be rolled into one app!
I like the last photo best. Mix of dark and bright orange clouds converging together, as if they are in a fight 🙂
March 15, 2015 at 8:27 am
Oh I think the same thing Mabel…about wishing everything was in one app! I think that every time I use them lol. You picked out my favorite. I replaced the sky on that one…on my phone! That Leonardo app is really handy for that. Thank you for your comments Mabel. I always look forward to what you have to say. 🙂
March 16, 2015 at 5:19 am
I didn’t know you could replace the sky in a phone app, so thank you for that. I’ve only started looking at image editing apps recently, there are so many out there :O But, more choices also mean more fun and endless ways of creating a picture with a story 🙂
March 16, 2015 at 6:38 am
You’re welcome! I didn’t either until a few weeks ago.
March 15, 2015 at 1:12 pm
The cabin is especially nice.
March 15, 2015 at 1:29 pm
Thanks Ron. 🙂 Someone honestly told me in the comments they liked the rose by the others not so much lol. Nothing like being direct!
March 15, 2015 at 1:35 pm
Laura, I have trouble with floral close ups because so many people are doing them. Now throw in a bug or a hummingbird, or go for a true macro, that is something different.
March 15, 2015 at 1:37 pm
I understand. They are common but for instagram they are so easy! lol I just meant that to me it’s funny when someone says the negative when posting initially instead of the positive. Why say what you don’t like? Strange to me but with a discussion like this, I enjoy it. Thanks and have a great Sunday!
March 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm
Some people are just like that.
March 15, 2015 at 5:51 pm
Yup.
March 15, 2015 at 3:16 pm
Lovely shots Laura…..I don’t do enough with my iPHONE 😊
March 15, 2015 at 5:58 pm
Thank you Mark. I drive my husband crazy with my photo taking LOL.
March 15, 2015 at 4:42 pm
wow- great apps and great effects. Gorgeous Laura!
March 15, 2015 at 5:58 pm
Thank you! So fun. 🙂
