Continuing on with Yosemite….I adored how the snow had such different looks depending on where we were and what light there was. Sometimes it looked sparkly in the sun, sometimes it looked icy and blue and sometimes it looked like a marshmallow “puff”. It was magical and I felt enveloped in nature, so small and tiny compared to such majesty.

Wow Laura it does truly look magical, we are finally getting winter in Virginia! Warm weather was nice, having May in December, however all of nature is confused, farmers with orchards are saying fruit will be high in price this year IF they have any at all this summer and fall. I always love looking at your photography!

I’ve been warned too that maple syrup will be very expensive since the trees won’t be able to produce sap. We had a confused winter last year and the year before that and the year before that and… Somehow nature makes things right….eventually. Let’s hope your strange weather subsides and winter rolls in! Thank you Mitch! Happy New Year. 🙂

Thank you so much Amy! I can’t believe how lucky we were to time it just right for the snowfall! I’ve never ever walked in snow like this and I was just amazed. It was honestly hard to take pictures because at 15 degrees my hands were in huge ski gloves and it was kind of a pain to take the pics. How do people do it? I guess most are acclimated to that temperature. Anyway, it was amazing and I can’t wait for spring when the waterfalls are flowing! Thank you m’dear. 🙂

Laura, there are special gloves that we in the north wear in snow just for photography. They look like mittens but you can flip the top off and your fingers are exposed so that you can work the buttons on your camera. Same holds true for the thumb there is a flap that you can flip off so that your thumb is exposed again to work the buttons.

Thank you so much for the email and the pic of the gloves! I’m going to look into that when I get home. It was too hard taking them on and off.
