Stillness

I always like to jump in and be a part of things, but sometimes it’s hard when I feel things are in a turmoil around me or within myself.  And that’s what I adore about photography.  No matter what’s going on, I can stop and have that moment of stillness and peace by appreciating Mother Nature even when it’s not a serene scene that I’m looking at.  I don’t have to try and be a part of things or say or do the “right” thing.  I just AM.

  1. It snowed here today for the first time this unreal winter of non-stop rain – and I came home to this – beautiful!

  2. I seem to love all your images and wish I had the wall space to purchase all. The one called “Conections” that I bought from you turned out just beautifully!!

  3. I wish it would snow up here!! Beautiful stillness!! I have slowed down a bit with blogging etc since before Christmas so have been having a hard time catching up. Hope all is well!

    • I wondered if you were still around! Glad you had a nice holiday break..well at least I hope you did! Indeed it’s hard catching up. I took a mini break as well and it felt good. Looking forward to seeing you around the blogosphere!

  4. So true Laura!! Lovely vintage processing 🙂

  5. A gorgeous image to highlight such an important thought.

  6. True words, Laura and perfect to accompany your gorgeous image. I’ve never been to Yosemite in the winter -incredible.

    • I’m glad they rang true Jane. I’m wondering how many of us feel this way. After seeing Yosemite in the winter, I can honestly say that it’s one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen! We took Amtrak from Martinez to Merced and then a bus right to the valley floor. Much better than battling the snow driving. At least for us.

  7. Wonderful picture Laura..! Great shot.!

  8. Beautiful photo, Laura. Like a fairytale 🙂 Agree with you there – with photography we can lose ourselves in the moment and forget about our troubles for a moment. There’s always more to life 🙂

  9. Stunning shot! There is always something so magical about freshly fallen snow.

  10. Breathtaking surroundings
