The Merced River meanders through the Yosemite Valley right near the Ahwahnee Hotel. It was so amazing to see this amount of snow here! I wish I could take pictures here every day…but then go home to the “no snow” zone lol.

Thank you Dan. I’m not sure I’ve seen too many.

Hi Dan. 🙂 I have pinterest but I hardly ever look at it honestly. I have so many social media sites that I’ve had to restrict myself to follow only a few because it truly is nuts!

I understand. I started Pinterest only to store some of the “illustrations” I use in my blog. It grew from there, but not much. I hate that you have to be a member to see stuff.

I hardly get any hits on Pinterest. And I hardly use it lol. I just got done pinning some there though. At least I should pin them. you never know!

I love the soft touches of sunlight hitting the water… you don’t see photos like this very often. I love it.

I’m so glad you like the sunlight. That’s what attracted me to this scene. Thanks so much for your kind comment!

Beautiful! And I agree with you on the snow preferences.

Thank you! lol…we are wimps!

Your photo is really special, you are such an amazing artist…There is something truly amazing about the ability to go from no snow around my home to above the tree line where the world is a postcard beautiful winter wonderland.

Thank you so much Charlie. I’m so flattered you’d call me an artist. I try! We also here can get to the snow in 2-1/2 hours. When we had our vacation house in the foothills, it was literally about 20-30 minutes away, so I know what you mean. Unfortunately I wasn’t much into photography then.

Wonderful framed with the white trees and snow, great contrasts. Wonderful pic!

Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the framing and contrast. It’s the thing I worked on first with this image.

I don’t want to be a kill joy but somewhere in the valley is petters out to nothing and that’s caused by the constant draining by the farmers, hopeful the drought will change this! I love this picture!
January 19, 2016 at 9:04 am
In the Merced Valley you mean? Yeah…the farming has really taken a lot of water from everywhere including the Aquifers. All those almond trees……

This is beautiful. It reminds me of a Thomas Kincaid illustration.
