Continuing my quest for different angles of the Golden Gate Bridge, here’s a painterly take on the bridge which I obtained by carefully climbing down a small hill where I wasn’t supposed to go. ย I’m such a rebel, lol.
I think not only can the angles of the bridge be unique, but processing helps create uniqueness as well. ย It’s why we can see so many pictures of this magnificent structure from the same angle and constantly see something new.
If you’d like to see a larger version, just click on the image.

BEAUTIFUL LAURA!

Hi Mitch! Thank you so much. ๐
April 26, 2016 at 2:57 pm
One of my favorite times going to work was being stuck on the Golden Gate bridge as the sun was starting to rise above the fog. Incredible colors! Another was coming home and seeing sunsets like that one as I headed north on the GG bridge.
Thanks for the memories. ๐

A pleasure as always ๐
April 26, 2016 at 5:45 pm
I like your treatment of this photo. Looks like it was taken near the back of the building that was my barracks when stationed at the Presidio (1969) with the 30th Military Police Battalion. One of those two story white stucco buildings that back up to Lincoln Blvd. by the batteries. Most early mornings the area would be covered with fog and the smell of Eucalyptus. Back then the batteries were hard to see as they were mostly overgrown. The batteries on the north side of the bridge had large underground tunnels that we could drive our patrol cars in. They used to store Civil Defense items in some of them and occasionally we’d find broken locks where the hippies, allegedly :), had broken in to get food and other supplies.
April 26, 2016 at 6:02 pm
That is so interesting. And now hippies are the homeless. Fog and eucalyptus remind me of home in the Oakland hills and this area as well. Isn’t it funny how we remember smells and associate them with memories? Thanks so much for sharing this. Oh and thanks for the compliment. ๐

Your welcome. I think music and smells arr very powerful memory joggers.

I was praying the Golden Gate Swat Team wouldn’t tackle me to the ground and confiscate my camera LOL! Thank you Mabel. ๐
April 26, 2016 at 6:51 pm
Wonderful, sometimes you have to be a rebal to get the one of a kind shot. Glad you did not get caught.
April 26, 2016 at 6:52 pm
Thanks so much Terry. :). Me too. I’d like to get through my life without being arrested! ๐

April 27, 2016 at 6:24 am
Let’s pray it’s not too soft when I drive over it. LOL

I love the effect on the leaves. You are a master. I was going to say mistress but that has a bad connotation!
April 30, 2016 at 9:04 am
Um yeah, pass on the mistress thing. ๐ Thank you! And thanks to Topaz Impression and Topaz Glow. ๐
April 30, 2016 at 10:32 am
I have 8 or 9 Topaz apps. But no Impression or Glow. How many do they have?
April 30, 2016 at 4:51 pm
I’m not sure. I have adjust (don’t like that one), Clarity, Denoise (favorite), impression, glow, and simplify (don’t much like that one either).
May 2, 2016 at 9:36 am
I use Adjust rarely, Denoise even rarelier! I have been using Simplify, then discovered Restyle (I think that’s what it’s called). At first I would try to find something that looked good as a one click, but you really have to work with the sliders to get something to fit your vision. But they give you great starting points- even if they give you so many that it’s a bit of overkill.
May 2, 2016 at 1:44 pm
I can’t get by without Denoise. And I love Restyle! And I agree. So many are crazy overblown.
