It was so peaceful in the forest. No sounds were to be heard here except for the rustling of trees, an occasional person’s footsteps, and an occasional movement of ferns on the forest floor due to lizards or some other unknown small creature. We never saw or heard any birds in the forest either. How many of us can experience such silence? I love nature!
August 25, 2016 at 8:57 am
Walking across the forest floor is truly an amazing experience; I love how connected you become to the earth when you do it.
August 25, 2016 at 10:19 am
I love the way you say that. Yes! Very connected. Thanks Charlie. 🙂

Thank you Debi! I’m so glad you feel it. It was an amazing feeling.
August 25, 2016 at 10:26 am
Oh, Laura, the lighting is perfect! The silence is what I live the most about a forest, that and green. Oh how my soul thirsts for both. Gorgeous gorgeous capture!!!<3
August 25, 2016 at 10:26 am
Love not live…..
August 25, 2016 at 10:33 am
Don’t we wish those words were synonymous more often? 🙂
August 25, 2016 at 10:38 am
Ahhhh …. Very good, Laura!!! Brava!!!
August 25, 2016 at 10:32 am
Thank you so much! I know you know that feeling so well!
August 25, 2016 at 10:41 am
I crave the forest. I will be so sad to see the green go and will just have to depend on the evergreens to keep feeding my soul green. It is the light green that draws me so, not the deep green so much of the evergreens. I hope to get caught up with my household never ending chores today so that I can go hiking again tomorrow. 🙂 Again, beautiful shot and your editing this pic is perfect!!!! ❤
August 25, 2016 at 6:55 pm
I love the light green as well. We don’t have forests right here where we are but there are some small ones nearby in Oakland. I love winters here though (if it rains) because the whole state turns green! Rolling hills of green in winter and in spring. Have fun hiking tomorrow and thanks for the lovely comment. :-))
August 25, 2016 at 10:30 am

Never mind your photography- I’ve said it all before. But your words, too, paint a very inviting image. I want to be there!
August 25, 2016 at 6:56 pm
Aw thank you :-). I’m gaining more confidence in writing s bit more rather than giving a geography lesson all the time LOL!!
August 25, 2016 at 11:49 am

Beautiful Laura; so like our walk through the Pacific Spirit Park. In total awe of the light, the colors, the trees – takes your breath away. I think I can hear the rustling :-).
August 25, 2016 at 6:58 pm
I smiled when you said you can hear the rustling. :-). I adore that sound….like the ancient spirits speaking! Where is that park you mentioned. Off to google! Thanks Andrew. 🙂

Well done. There is no better place to be than deep in the forest. I live for those little patches of dappled light that finds its way through the forest canopy.
August 25, 2016 at 6:59 pm
Thank you rich. It was just so beautiful and soothing. A place I could be forever.
August 25, 2016 at 5:19 pm

You photographed the forest and that gorgeous light brilliantly. The forest is one of my top 3 places to be.
August 25, 2016 at 7:02 pm
Thanks so much! I’ve always said if I had a choice between forest and mountains vs coast, I would take forest and mountains hands down!
August 25, 2016 at 7:03 pm
Me too. 🙂
August 25, 2016 at 7:38 pm

Me, too. Love nature. Even the desert, lately, though I much prefer lots of green trees and water. Maybe mountains, too. And less heat. 🙂

Less heat is always a plus!
