These are a few of my favorite things…

Looking through that tiny space we call a viewfinder, photographers present unique little worlds all unto their own.  The fact that this same tiny space can reveal expansive landscapes, detailed macros and everything in between fascinates me!   I love that photography can transform this tiny viewfinder space again and again into images that spark curiosity, wonder, laughter and even sometimes tears.

Today I’d like to share with you some of my favorite (non-Word Press) photography sites along with a few words that describe why I love them so much.  I’m also sharing an image from Muir Beach.

I hope you enjoy the links I’ve shared below.  Let me know what you think!

Tulip Tuesday!

It’s such a glorious day out so I thought I’d post some more tulips before the rain comes in tonight.  Yay!  California really needs the rain.  I hope our El Nino isn’t over.    Happy Tuesday everyone!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

It seems spring is upon California right now with high 70’s predicted for today.  We need more rain but I’m going to enjoy this weather today and soak up some sun on our deck.  I’m still battling this cold although it’s slowly getting better thank goodness!

Yesterday I took a picture of this tulip and thought I’d share it with you.   I used a softbox cube which can be purchased fairly cheaply on Amazon which can be seen here, a piece of black lacquer plastic to place the tulip on, and a black background which came with the softbox.  I then turned on all the lights in the kitchen and used a small light that came with the cube and placed it on the outside of the cube to give a little bit more light.  I thought I might have to use a flash but then realized this ended up being just the right amount of light.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
