Journey of a body on this earth

Old Suburbia

I finally did it!  I woke up a bit early and went out in search of morning light.  I will admit, it’s not easy for me to get up earlier than normal and to get myself out of the house, but it was worth it in the end.

First…I got lost lol. Where once stood rows of farms and fences are now homes on streets with stoplights.  I was completely turned around and precious light was slipping away before I finally got my bearings.  Fortunately, my laser-like eye and deft maneuvering of the vehicle allowed me to spot this barn tucked amongst the trees and park to get a decent perspective.

It’s sad to see the past fade away.  I hope this barn is around for awhile longer.

The Church

The other day we were walking around a cute little area in Oakland after having ice cream and I saw this church.   I’ve “seen” this church over the years probably since I was about seven but never really looked at it.  Fortunately I had my camera, so I took a few shots as the sun was setting in the west.   My mission lately is to see the light on things and to expand my horizons with black and white photography.  I think it’s a good exercise to step out of my comfort zone and try something new.  I really want to improve and hope this exercise will get me there………eventually.  🙂

This morning I was innocently sitting at my computer when all of a sudden I got an email from my husband with an attachment.  Woah!!!  I had to immediately look at it because I don’t think he finished his cup of coffee yet, so I felt it must’ve been extremely important.

This isn’t my usual stunning photography lol, but I thought I’d take a break from that today and post this funny….  I honestly think it’s funnier from a man’s point of view, but that’s just my opinion.  😛
