Social Media Overload!

social-media-overload-500x300

When will it end?  LOL!  I think I’m more plugged in than all our outlets in our house!  While I’m waiting for smugmug to shed some light on this community forum issue, I’ve been busy in Google+.  I never thought I’d get to the point of joining, but I wanted to test it out as an alternative to smugmug.

My initial testing has found out that while there are many groups and ways to share photos, the comments are not as in depth and I don’t quite have the sense of community as I did in smugmug.  And I miss my fellow smuggers!  Google+ definitely has a speedier feel to it whereas smugmug felt intimate with the comments received and given.  Also, it does not have the same slick feel to the layout.

But, since I’m there, what the heck.  I’ll post things there too.  So, in case you are curious, here is yet another link!

So lessee, between my wordpress blog here, facebook, smugmug (yes I still maintain that site for now), my own personal website, and other forums I post in…I am on social media overload!  Now, if I can just keep up with the correspondence!  🙂   But have no fear, somehow I do.

Refocusing on Life

As all of you know, I’ve been blogging about my knee since before my surgery on December 11, 2012.  While it’s not 100% yet, I’m confident that by the time one year has passed, it will be.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how to refocus my blog and you might’ve been feeling that I’m covering a lot of photography here as well.  That’s because I can finally get up and around enjoy life again!

While I still will be updating my knee as promised for an entire year, I’ve decided to also include snippets of my life and hoping to reflect those things in my photos.   The word “life” is so broad and can mean many things from vacations to inner reflections to health-related awareness, etc.

For starters, yesterday we went on the AT&T Park Tour as described in yesterday’s blog, but here are some more pics from that fun time.  And yes, the peppers were there!

The good and the not so good

A lot of fun was had with my camera club today. A few of us got together for the AT&T Park tour which is home to the SF Giants baseball team. It was interesting to see the inner workings of one of major league baseball’s finest parks. I found out a few interesting facts.

  1. There are twenty four palm trees by the front gate representing Willie Mays’ number. I had no idea there were 24 trees. Nice touch!
  2. The bricks laid in the front represent the seams of a baseball.
  3. When the AT&T Park opened in March of 2000, it was the first MLB stadium constructed without public funding since 1962 when the Dodgers built their stadium. However, the city of San Francisco did provide the Giants with $10 million dollars in the form of a tax abatement and $80 million for renovations.

After all that fun we went to the Tadich Grill which is the oldest restaurant in California and one of our favorite places for lunch. I’ve been going there since my teens!

One thing though is my fibromyalgia had kicked I’m big time ugh. I’ve been slacking off on my vitamins and have let gluten slip back into my life. Ill blog on this later, but this has GOT to change. It makes everything worse including my knees.
