Expressing Passion

It’s not about the perfect photo.  For me it’s about expressing myself.  Maybe it’s because I was a musician most of my life and was used to expressing myself through the arts.  Or maybe it’s because I can’t convey my emotions very well through the spoken or written word.

What drives me in photography is my desire to share an intense feeling of beauty with someone else so they can feel what I felt.  Maybe it’s a bit like asking you to know me and to accept me.

Creating imagery for me is like taking all my emotions of the moment and putting them onto the head of a pin….I want to leave no doubt as to how the magic of nature left it’s impression.

Sunrise from the Marin Headlands

I finally got my camera back and yes I’m excited, so I had to post this photo of an incredible sunrise from the Marin Headlands this morning.  The Marin Headlands is in Marin County which is just across the Golden Gate Bridge north of San Francisco.   I hope you enjoy the beautiful color.  🙂

Old Suburbia

I finally did it!  I woke up a bit early and went out in search of morning light.  I will admit, it’s not easy for me to get up earlier than normal and to get myself out of the house, but it was worth it in the end.

First…I got lost lol. Where once stood rows of farms and fences are now homes on streets with stoplights.  I was completely turned around and precious light was slipping away before I finally got my bearings.  Fortunately, my laser-like eye and deft maneuvering of the vehicle allowed me to spot this barn tucked amongst the trees and park to get a decent perspective.

It’s sad to see the past fade away.  I hope this barn is around for awhile longer.
