Journey of a body on this earth

Stillness

I always like to jump in and be a part of things, but sometimes it’s hard when I feel things are in a turmoil around me or within myself.  And that’s what I adore about photography.  No matter what’s going on, I can stop and have that moment of stillness and peace by appreciating Mother Nature even when it’s not a serene scene that I’m looking at.  I don’t have to try and be a part of things or say or do the “right” thing.  I just AM.

Coneflower Twirl – Monochrome Madness

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’ve posted quite a few coneflowers recently.  It all started with a color macro awhile ago, then last week I posted a monochrome “artistic” version, and today I’ve gone completely abstract with it!

This MMC image came about by me wanting to revise the coneflower from last week because I knew it could’ve been better.  After creating the “new and improved” version, which you can see on my photography website via the link on the sidebar, I started playing with it yet again and came up with this.

Enlightenment – Monochrome Madness

My first big outing since my surgery was north of the Golden Gate on Sunday.  After we were greeted by the colorful pelican (from yesterday’s post), we went to Rodeo Beach.  It was a gorgeous day!

Many photos have been taken of the unique rock formations at this beach, but I knew I couldn’t walk that far on the sand with my knee the way it is…at least not yet.   So I started looking at what else I could come up with.  The funny thing is that often I am looking out in the distance for an image rather than right in front of me.  I think my macro has taught me to look closer.  🙂
