There are so many special little spots along the California Coast and one of them is called Moonstone Beach in Cambria. What a gorgeous place! We had two beautiful days where there was hardly a breath of wind as we walked along the shoreline and did some sight seeing. The sunset shot here was taken on the second evening just as a storm started to roll in.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday! Now onto the next one!

Thank you Rich. There is just something about being on the beach with the waves crashing (and me moving my tripod quickly at times) that I adore. 🙂

Hi Pam! Thank you! I didn’t get one photo down in San Diego though….rain the entire time during sunset. I’m glad I got something when i did.

So sad about the timing of the rain. I really wanted to see your lovely San Diego sunsets. But Cambria was great 🙂 .

Me too. I think we are coming back in April to see the Giants play the padres and for our nephews birthday so maybe then!
December 1, 2016 at 5:05 pm
That would be fantastic! Early April?
December 1, 2016 at 5:52 pm
I’m not sure. It’s either April or July. Those are the two times we come to SD. We won’t be purchasing tickets until probably March or so. The season has to start so that people start selling their season tix. 🙂

Just like there is more than one Salmon Creek in CA, there is more than one Moonstone Beach as well, apparently, because we have one up here on the North Coast as well.

Interesting! I love the name moonstone. I’ll have to google yours to see what it’s like.
December 1, 2016 at 10:29 am
It’s gorgeous, with a fresh water creek coming down just there, and a big rock face perfect for beginning rock climbers right on the beach, and at the far end, a cave big enough to walk into.
December 1, 2016 at 10:30 am
I just googled. It’s beautiful!!
December 1, 2016 at 10:29 am

I wish I could’ve taken more photos! I have a couple more but I just didn’t have too much time. It’s a gorgeous spot! I’m glad you’ve been there.

Moonstone beach – what a great name for a beach! Thanks for sharing. I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem is about the moon in case you have time to look? Lunar greetings! Sam 🙂
