I think something is amiss with posting to word press. My last post hardly got any views which is really strange. I noticed when I posted that it gave me an error message yet it was viewed successfully by a small segment of the readership. Recently I just posted this image yet I got another error and couldn’t even see it myself! Weird! So now I’m trying to post this one as a new post rather than using “copy a post” which is how I usually post. Has anyone else had issues with this?
I took this at Crockett, California the other day and loved the old rustic building and boat. I think I must’ve been a fisherman in a past life or someone who worked on the docks because I really love the feeling when in these locations. 🙂

I had the same thing the other day. After two hours I wrote to the forum. Told to add another tag. I did and that jolted it on. But it put it two hours down the feed. Big disappointment.
However, this is a great photograph.
September 18, 2015 at 12:34 pm
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one but sorry to hear you had the same issue. Good idea about the tag. I’ll give that a go later on. Thanks for the tip!! And the compliment. 🙂
September 18, 2015 at 12:32 pm
Wow i liked edits!

Thank you Melek!

Lovely photo. Want to listen to Otis Redding now.
September 18, 2015 at 12:34 pm
IKR?? I almost gave it that title. lol Thanks Alex.
September 18, 2015 at 12:41 pm
Not had that issue but have been mysteriously unsubscribed from people once in a while… WP is too big for it’s own britches maybe. Tech issues.
September 18, 2015 at 5:05 pm
Thanks John. I’m thinking it could be that when WP makes changes, other things get out of whack.
September 18, 2015 at 12:46 pm
I have had this problem, where I could not post. Then I used enter one time for my text and could publish.
If you publish from your phone, there can be other problems. Great photo Laura 🙂
September 18, 2015 at 3:36 pm
Thank you Irene. So strange as I’ve not had this issue before. Such is the universe of Word Press. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your experience.
September 18, 2015 at 12:51 pm
Your original post came through to my phone 5 or 10 minutes after your second attempt. Very strange.
September 18, 2015 at 3:36 pm
That is weird Norm!
September 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm
Lovely photo, Laura, of the dock of the Bay. I’m glad you were able to get it posted. I haven’t had this particular problem before, but I have had 2 or 3 occasions where my post didn’t get published on the Reader; then 1 time it came on the Reader but an hour later. My guess was that WP gets backed up when they have a big flux of bloggers posting at the same time. Have a fun weekend! 😀
September 18, 2015 at 3:36 pm
Thanks so much Jet for the compliment and sharing your thoughts. Backed up eh? Sounds like a personal problem with WP! hahaha
September 18, 2015 at 3:38 pm
hahaha!
September 18, 2015 at 3:40 pm
🙂
September 18, 2015 at 1:11 pm
Beautiful, Laura! I like how you placed the boat between the foreground and the bridge, and you captured some soft light.
September 18, 2015 at 3:37 pm
Thank you Amy. 🙂 I’m working on trying to see things differently. Not easy when you don’t know what else there is to see lol.
September 18, 2015 at 4:43 pm
No, not you, Laura. The rest of us don’t know… lol.
September 18, 2015 at 4:44 pm
It’s like the blind leading the blind then! hehe
September 18, 2015 at 1:51 pm
I have had some similar issues. Great photograph in this post, glad I did not miss it.
September 18, 2015 at 5:06 pm
Evidently I’m not alone and am in good company! Thank you about the photo. 🙂
September 18, 2015 at 3:26 pm
Good picture! No problems with wordpress here but I don’t use it all that much.
September 18, 2015 at 3:37 pm
Thank you! Glad you don’t have problems when you use it….yet that is. 😛
September 18, 2015 at 3:41 pm
so calm and peaceful
September 18, 2015 at 3:44 pm
It really was. I’m glad that comes through, thank you.
September 18, 2015 at 5:20 pm
Beautiful image, as always! I’ve had that same problem, but not lately. I wrote to the forum, and just as I had done that, it posted and I could see it…but hours late in the feed. Once my post came 13 hours late in the feed and a very small number of people saw it. So it’s not personal 😀
September 18, 2015 at 5:54 pm
Well I’m glad they don’t have it out for me. 😜. Interesting that the post showed up so much later but I guess better late than never eh? Thanks Tiny. Much appreciated!!
September 18, 2015 at 7:36 pm
no probs on my end.
September 18, 2015 at 9:35 pm
Such a warm views of the dock. Serene. Pity about WP playing up. I had that problem a few months ago minus the error message, and my post didn’t even appear in the reader. All good now.
September 19, 2015 at 7:27 am
Thank you Mabel. I’m finding that a lot of people seemed to have had this issue so I’m not alone. 🙂
September 18, 2015 at 11:21 pm
Had one major problem– when the “beep bop” messages were popping up on my adding a new post. all my previous year’s postings had all my typewritten stuff converted to major step indents on every line. Still fixing some of those old posts as I get time. Like your photos.
September 19, 2015 at 7:28 am
How strange. I wonder what’s going on lately. Hopefully they get it fixed. Thank you for the comment and compliment on my photos. 🙂
September 19, 2015 at 12:10 am
The only time you should ‘copy a post’ is when you want to use the same material and format you had in a previous post and want to alter it just slightly. janina
September 19, 2015 at 7:28 am
Thanks Janina. I’ll keep that in mind.
September 19, 2015 at 12:56 am
There are three segments to your image which make it look like an overlaid triptych – clever perspective and combinations – not to mention the tonal effects
p.s. have had quite a few problems lately- if I use the old editor, it publishes the post with date when first drafted so disappears to bottom of the reader. The new editor gets stuck in beep beep boop loop so I can’t draft and when I do manage, text vanishes from the page but is still there. 😮
September 19, 2015 at 7:29 am
What a nice compliment, thank you Laura. 🙂 I’ve been using the old editor as I’ve still resisted the new one. I guess I’m a creature of habit!
September 19, 2015 at 10:38 am
that may be the problem Laura – it could be publishing your posts on the first draft date (as it does with me even though in preview it shows the correct date) – or since you copy posts, it may take the date of the original and hence it will appear way down the reader – that is what happens when I use the old reader – now I prepare it all in the old one, and do final edit in the new one before publishing from there
September 19, 2015 at 4:18 pm
Ahhh…that is a great deduction Laura. I will do it how you suggest from now on. I will bet that’s it! *Hands you the sleuth award*.
September 19, 2015 at 6:55 am
a beautiful image
i’m happy it broke through
the wp barriers 🙂
September 19, 2015 at 7:30 am
Thank you so much. And yes…wind, rain, sleet nor snow! 🙂
September 19, 2015 at 9:11 am
I’ve had some WP weirdness too but I’m not tech savvy enough to even begin to interrogate what went wrong. I just start over.
I’m glad you found a way to share this image though. The warm light against the man-made industrial elements, the warmth against the blues and greys, is really pleasing.
September 19, 2015 at 9:56 am
Thanks so much Laura. Sometimes it’s not worth trying to unravel these issues. Usually I find they resolve themselves in time. So that’s what I’m doing. Lol
September 19, 2015 at 11:34 am
Great texture and nice contrast. I haven’t had an issue posting but good to know there may be an issue?
September 19, 2015 at 4:18 pm
Thank you Mark. I think Laura Bloomsbury is onto something. She posted her thoughts in this thread.
September 19, 2015 at 3:13 pm
Very cool framing, Laura. I really like how this is arranged by you of course. And my stats are down. My likes are way down. And my usual comments way down. No idea. *sighs* We’ll just sail on through this together. I’m still here, though. I haven’t been online much and have not used my reader much either today, so I don’t know for sure if this post I would have seen. *another sigh* BLEEP! LOL 😉 (((HUGS))) Amy ❤
September 19, 2015 at 4:20 pm
Thanks about the framing! I’m totally inspired today. We went to the DeYoung museum and saw an exhibition by JMW Turner. WOW! Talk about atmospheric and beautiful! That doesn’t have anything to do with likes and stats but I guess I’m realizing there’s more to life lately lol. BLEEP back! 😛
September 19, 2015 at 4:48 pm
Laura, I am SO SO Happy for you!! Yes there is SO much more to life then bloggiing. My Life has been so pulled away from WP that lately any blogging attempts on my part have been half hearted. I hope to devote more time to myself and photography and Petals over the winter. Yet I am making plans now to be more involved in life this coming winter too. I have no idea what the DeYoung museum is or who JMW Turner is, but your WOW says it all. I’m really smiling due to YOUR happiness, my friend! 🙂 ❤ 🙂 ❤
September 20, 2015 at 7:50 am
I’m the same way Amy. Lately other things have dragged me away. Good things though. Look up JMW Turner if you have a chance. I’m into landscapes so he’s a master at landscape and light. Seeing them in person was amaaaazzzzinnnng!!
September 20, 2015 at 7:56 am
Way cool!! I’m going to do that today! I want to learn more about landscape. Thanks, Laura!! ❤
September 20, 2015 at 7:58 am
Here are some of his paintings. Seeing them in person was so much better because the detail is sometimes not evident on the screen. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=jmw+turner+paintings
September 20, 2015 at 8:16 am
I AM BLOWN AWAY! Now I understand why you are so excited. WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 20, 2015 at 3:19 pm
IKR??
September 20, 2015 at 6:03 pm
IKR???? *scratching head*
September 20, 2015 at 7:25 pm
I know, right?? 😀
September 21, 2015 at 6:56 am
As if I was supposed to know. Yeah, right! 😉
September 21, 2015 at 7:56 am
hehehe
September 20, 2015 at 7:33 am
I really like the somber mood of this. FYI, notice of your previous post appeared normally in my inbox, as did this one.
September 20, 2015 at 7:55 am
Thank you. 🙂 I’m glad my previous one appeared. I changed that one too a couple of times to make it appear in the reader. Maybe only people who get it delivered to the inbox got it. Alas!
September 20, 2015 at 10:46 am
Hmmm … you must be in a nautical fame of mind lately. 🙂
I’ve given up on Reader and some other features on WP. In trying to be mobile friendly, they’ve lost some of their functionality. My particular gripe is they drop letters if I type too fast – must be the guys in the back office have their equipment set on S-L-O-W.
September 20, 2015 at 11:37 am
I must be! I do love the water. It’s a shame that WP has lost more conveniences. 😦 I’ve tried commenting and giving suggestions but they are not even responded to. Oh well.. C’est la vie!
September 22, 2015 at 1:22 pm
I like the darkness in this one – too much illumination would not have worked as well.
