I haven’t taken a bracketed photo in awhile so I thought I’d go out last night and try it out on my new camera. It’s really cool how you can control the number of shots and the bracketed exposure with the command and sub-command dials and see it right on the LCD screen! It’s so convenient. I can take up to 9 shots, but I took 5 for this image.
I processed it in Nik HDR and I’m loving my new technique of removing halos. I really don’t like halos in HDR and I can see them now so easily because I look at a lot of these images. Maybe it’s me but I really love figuring out how to fix things like this. I think it’s my favorite thing about photoshop!

A round of bogies lol! I just updated it on my blog. The original looked sort of dark. Thanks PB!

Great image using a great HDR program!
April 28, 2015 at 8:51 am
Thank you Nicolaas!
April 28, 2015 at 8:15 am
Wow. The HDR is nice and understated in this one. The lighting as it pours on this setting makes this look like a painting. Nicely done.

Thank you very much Neil. 🙂

Thanks John! It is a nice view isn’t it. I love the long shadow time of day.
April 28, 2015 at 10:44 am
I agree – the Halos are not my favorite part of HDR…very nice image Laura.
April 28, 2015 at 12:59 pm
Thank you so much Robert. It’s my first bracketed photo with this camera.
April 29, 2015 at 3:56 am
Amazingly easy – for Urbex work, I set mine to 9 frames then set up the self-timer for the same – plug in the delays and get perfect non-wobbly long exposure brackets.
April 29, 2015 at 7:46 am
I never thought of bracketing long exposures for some reason. Interesting! I’m a baby when it comes to HDR really. Tnx Robert. 🙂
April 29, 2015 at 8:29 am
Glad to offer up a suggestion…hope you can use it.
April 28, 2015 at 12:59 pm

I really think that “soft” HDR has its place and you have given a very good example. Takes more work to get right.
April 28, 2015 at 2:41 pm
Thank you Victor. I don’t like it too often but it’s nice one in awhile.
April 28, 2015 at 4:21 pm

Nik HDR. must look it up.
April 28, 2015 at 9:40 pm
It’s good for tone mapping one image as well.

Nice
April 28, 2015 at 7:48 pm
HDR is really great for this image! Like a gorgeous painting. I haven’t done one for a while…should probably try again.
April 28, 2015 at 9:40 pm
Thanks Tiny. It was easy because I didn’t have to go far lol.

Very Nice Golf Course in HDR. Would like to play that course. As you already know, I use Photomatrix for my HDR. I do like it. However, I have a slight problem. I have gotten a new Nikon D7000 and have not gotten to use the Bracket function quite yet. Most of the HDR Images I’ve done are with a single Image. They do come out pretty good. Have fun with that new camera.
April 29, 2015 at 8:02 am
Thank you Les 🙂 I use Photomatix too sometimes. I’ve gotten better with Nik HDR though and the results are similar mostly for basic HDR. I don’t have the LR plugin for Photomatix and don’t want to spend the money for it so that’s why I’ve been in Nik mostly. Enjoy your new camera! Ping me back if you do an HDR with it ok? I’d love to see. 🙂

You seem to like the ‘painterly’ effects! Maybe, I shall HDR you one of these days!
April 30, 2015 at 7:14 am
I do love painterly effects! Oh god no, please don’t. My skin is not what it used to be LOL.
April 30, 2015 at 9:52 am
Ha! Ha! Well, your skin looked just fine to me. So, watch out!
